In mid-summer 2009, Honduran president Manuel Zelaya was deposed and exiled by the country\'s military ahead of plans to hold a referendum on whether to convene an assembly to alter the constitution. He has since returned and has taken up refuge in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa, the country\'s capital. Negotiations between the interim government, and Mr. Zelaya have, so far, proved fruitless. The outcome of the general election, set for November 29 2009 will be instrumental in determining the path forward for the country.
There are 27 students attending this event.
